DTN COMMENTS:  Bids are now on the table in the three major feeding 
states, but they are well below current asking prices in Kansas and 
Texas. Asking prices in the South are around $258, but they are not fully 
established in the North. Packer inquiry should continue to improve as 
the day progresses. Having said that, it is possible that significant 
trade volume could hold off until sometime tomorrow. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 394.88 +1.59, Select 375.30 -
0.41) with light to moderate box movement (44.09 lds of choice cuts, 8.10 
lds of select cuts, 7.39 lds of trim, 3.29 lds of ground). Live cattle 
futures near the top of the noon hour are moderately to sharply higher, 
while feeder futures are sharply higher at this time.

For the period ending June 4th, beef net sales of 19,000 MT for 2026 were 
up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. 
Increases were primarily for South Korea (7,000 MT), Japan (4,200 MT), 
Mexico (2,400 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), and Taiwan (1,300 MT). Exports of 
15,200 MT were up 48 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from 
the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to South Korea 
(3,900 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), Taiwan (1,200 MT), and 
Canada (1,100 MT).
